The ingredients are as follows:
for the pastry:
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/4 lb butter, chilled
- 2 tablespoons superfine sugar
- 1 eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 tablespoons ice water For the superfine sugar if you don't have it pulse granulated sugar in a food processor. Combine sugar, salt, and flour. Then cut chilled butter into the flour until the mix resembles a coarse pea size meal. (to make it easier on myself I freeze my butter, grate and then chill. It blends much easier.) Then add in the ice water and knead until a soft smooth dough ball comes together
